  • Interstage transformer

Do you think this will work for a interstage (ala gibson style) transformer? Pulled from old military gear, i have about a dozen of these. Ratio is about 1:1, i was putting 70mv on the primary and getting about 68mv on each secondary. I sweeped them on the Sys Comp and they are really flat up to about 2mhz. Some are written 1kv test voltage. Just looking ahead to the next franken-project.

1:1 is good for isolation, but not for impedance transformation.

Looking to use as a phase splitter before the output tubes.

I guess if you don't need any gain, that should work.

Only thing that bothers me is the DC resistance is about 13 ohms. Chances are the inductance is low too, will measure that tomorrow. Maybe if i use a 12au7 driver. They may have been in a RF circuit, i'm not sure what they came out of. I guess i have to build something to find out. Maybe a simple Musicmaster bass circuit would let me know if they will work.
