I had picked up a TSL fairly cheap and was wondering if anyone had a list of mods to improve the sound and the reliability

I had a problem with hum and it was sent back to marshall and had some new output caps put in so i am a bit concerned with its design.

I have heard that there are probs with the TSL series. A mate of mine is very experienced in electronics, although guitar amps are not his area he does repair music kit like synths etc and has agreed to help me modify my amp for reliability and sound if I can provide details.

So I was wondering if anyone would be able to help as I have heard about various modifications that can be done to this amp.

Also just a question I hear that the TSL series uses solid state circuitary to produce more distortion. Is this correct and could it be responsable for some users not liking the TSL series? Is there anything that can be done to improve this?
