I've been doing some experimentation with this for 2 EL84 based amps with good results.
Papers about it suggests resistance values of 1.3 times the load impedance (although the fender Pro Jr definitely don't follow this rule), but I'm using much less, like a 4K7 resistor (with 3n9 cap) for a 6500ohm primary impedance OT.
Any issue with this ? I don't fully understand if this would actually change the load presented to the tubes (which is already a bit low compared to the usual 8K figure); didn't made any torture test yet, but at first works and sounds good...
