  • Need Output Modules for MF350

    Hi,

I just got a free MF350 (mode Four) amp from a friend. Its missing the 4 output module boards (TDA7293V). I've seen on other posts that the part number is KITS00004 for those boards, but I can't locate that anywhere.

Does anyone happen to have four of these old boards (so I can replace the ICs) or a way to order four of the complete boards at a reasonable cost?

At least the connecting wires were included.

    Thanks,

    Adam

They're missing because they always blow out. As Enzo and other board members will tell you, the Mode Four amps had a history of popping these power amp chips like popcorn, the replacement boards are hard to source in the USA because they come from Marshall in Britain, and that's probably why you got it free.

If I were you, I'd investigate the possibility of hooking up a completely different power amp. I can't remember if the Mode Fours use any fancy current feedback in the power stage. Or just toss the power amp away and use it like a POD
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

      Yeah...sometimes free is overpriced, huh?

Yep. I've read a bunch of posts of people who go through the ICs faster than my wife goes through shoes (and that's saying something).

I'd like to just get it working long enough to sell on Ebay.

While I could always use it as the world's largest POD, I think I'll skip that option (I've got enough random junk I carry from show to show).

I'm actually living in Germany, so getting stuff shipped from the UK is no big deal for me. Since I'm in the Army, I also get stuff shipped from the US at "local US" rates, so I'm just hoping someone out there has a good contact with Marshall or has a few of the old ones laying around that I can repair.

Of course...I've also been considering one last option.

I think the MF350 would make a hell of a good looking fishtank.
