Old Magnavox Record Console. HELP!

hey all...
My wife and I just bought an old Magnavox record console from an estate sale under the impression that it worked. We got it home and the thing turned right on, tubes warmed up, etc. When we turn the 'start' switch nothing is happening. Nothing is turning, moving etc. We just get the hum that lets us know it's on! We know little about this stuff and thought we'd see if there were any recommendations or thoughts...

are you trying to get the whole console working, record player and all?

is there a radio also?

look on the back and find the model # too.

I have a friend with a huge library of sams foto facts and may be able to get a few diagrams

Do a search on this forum for "turntable." We recently discussed a turntable not working, or running slow or something, and all the discussion will be pretinent to yours as well.

Chances are your lubricants are all dried up and turned hard. The turntable is too stiff for the little motor to turn.
