I thought your winder didnt have a traverse? Did you add one? Aren't you using the same hand winding maxwell machine that seymour uses?

      ....

I've had my own auto winder for years, the winder part of it is the Adams Maxwell, the traverse is my own design thats run from a cheap PC. They are not linked together, which for me, is ideal. I wind all my pickups on it. Its real low tech, cost about $100 to build, parts are all off the shelf or surplus, the only way to go in my opinion...

I'd love to see a picture of it, do you have a digital camera?

Just out of frame a Chinese abacus in case the two calculators bite the dust. Dave takes "old school" to the extreme.

There is also a fire extinguisher out of frame in case a brush fire threatens the old timber frame winder.

I'm poking fun. If it does the job that is what matters. I know Dave added some CNC stuff to replace the servos. I would like to see a photo of that.

No way Possum is using a CHINESE Abacus!

Only good old AMERICAN Abacus for him! (PAF Vintage specs, naturally)

                ...

I had Heritage Guitars build me a real Gibson Abacus since Gibson makes them wrong and charges $6,000 for their "Historic" version.

Sorry no photos, its too good......

Was that a slug coil abacus?

I guess I have a timber frame winder also. Vintage Gibson made though.

Did the TPL change over the years?
