Death By Audio - Fuzz War volume drop

I have one of the early circuits of DBA's fuzz war and was curious if anyone had worked on one of these. The volume drops when the pedal is engaged. The connections to and from the circuit board seem to be clean and solid.

Any ideas? I can post a photo of the board if it would help.
