  • Source for good 4-way rotary switch

    I'm looking to add a 4-way rotary switch to controls of a guitar. The "exotic" setting will be two pickups in series.
    So what's a dependable switch? ALPS of Japan any good? Lorlin? I know Framus uses a MEC switch that costs a pretty penny...

    i use both oak and tritan 4-way switches for teles. i've had so-so luck with most 4-ways, and it pays to continuity check each switch in static and dynamic states to make sure it'll work ok. this is my preferred tele 4-way circuit ...

      Thanks, but I'm talking about rotary switches.

      Allparts has one that seems decent. I'm only concerned it might not clear the barell jack end inside the cavity. Others I've seen have a slighlty longer shaft tip than a typical potentiometer whose place the switch will take. I'd have to apply some dremel abuse to the poor switch to get the body-knob-clearance right. Sigh...
