  • 5F1 Champ w/ 6BM8 One-Tube Reverb Pics

    Here's the build in progress.

    These pics are of the "base" 5F1 build, without the reverb. Note how the wiring is all scootched out of the way to leave room for the daughterboard, which is shown empty in the last pic. The wiggly red wire is the one that will be split to insert the reverb, and the curled white wire with the wire nut on the end is the B+ to the daughterboard.

    On the bottom, the right-hand 1/4" jack is for the reverb footswitch, and the second 9-pin socket from the right is for the 6BM8. On the top, I used one of the instrument inputs for the reverb pot. It's a tight fit, with the chickenhead knob actually brushing by the guitar plug (a fat Switchcraft plug).

    As shown in the last two photos, this amp works and sounds great.

    Reverb circuit. This amp works as shown and sounds great. There are some minor tweaks to be made (especially with the wet/dry mix), but it sounds awesome as is.
