  • 6 Way 2 Pole Rotary Switch for 3 single coils.

I want to wire a rotary switch to 3 single coils, with the usual 5 plus neck+bridge. By mistake, I bought a 6 way/2 pole switch instead of a 4 pole. Can someone help me wire this, if it can be done? I'm not doing the PRS type of wiring with phase switching or anything so I thought it might be possible. Thanks

i tried this circuit out today and it works. There you have it, a working 6 position, 2 pole rotary switch diagram for three single coils. Hope that helps someone else out too.

This diagram also includes a Fender Grease Bucket tone circuit, and a push-pull switch on the volume pot to switch the neck pickup out of phase. I use the neck+bridge position a lot so having this option on the neck just makes sense for me.

        Nick,

Your Greasebucket tone circuit will not work because there should be a connection to the ground (it is missing on your drawing). Take a look here: Mod Garage: The Fender Greasebucket Tone Circuit - Premier Guitar

Thanks Mark. I'll add it to the drawing. I had connected all the grounds in my test circuit but had only tested continuity not the function or sound of it. Thx!

Revised drawing, including ground for tone control.
