Screen Taps

Hi,

How does one connect and use a screen tap lead from an Output Transformer? I have a 5f1 OT with a 33 percent screen tap. I assume it is used with a switch as a gain cutting device, ICBW. Please explain.

Google "Ultra Linear Screen Tap".
The jist of it is, when using the UT tap off of the output primary, the tubes will run in between a triode & a pentode.

And, to be clear, there isn't any way to use the tap as a gain or volume "cutting device". And I can't imagine any benefit running a 5f1 ultralinear. That tap, on that transformer, in that amp, is sort of like the empty spaces in your cars fuse panel. The spaces are there because it's a universal part. And there's no way to use those empty spaces for anything in that model car.
