What substitution can I use for this transistor?

Hey guys.... I'm working on an old vintage Fender Fuzz/Wah. The fuzz circuit has a bad transistor but I can't read the schematic to see what the part number is to get a cross reference. Can somebody give me a suggestion on what I can use for a replacement for Q2 in this schematic?

I would stick in the first small signal NPN I could find. 2N3904 ought to work, as well as many others.

I read it as a '2N2524'.

My take on it is "2N2924" (look at the way they drew the "9" at R9), which is still available through Mouser.
