looking for replacement for AC018-B power module...

  • #2
*What* is an "AC018-B power module"
Some kind of power chip (á la Sanken?)
Or a whole sealed replaceable module like the ILP ones used by Award Session?
    Any schematic?

EDIT: read a little, *maybe* it's an OEM Class D power module.
Lots of Companies just buy them ready made by the container load and mount them in their amps or powered cabinets.
A very popular series is ICEpower ? Class D audio amplifiers
They are used by lots of established manufacturers (think Mackie and such), so I wouldn't be surprised if yours is a relabelled ICE.
Beside the obvious solution of geting a new one from Trace Elliott themselves (probably for big $$$), check the ICE catalog and/or post some oictures and measurements to see how yours is mounted.
Unfortunately Electronics are moving into the "replace/don't repair" area for a long time now.

Yes, Trace is distributed by Peavey. I am not sure that they support models prior to their relationship, but I don;t know how old the 1210 model is.

Must be quite new: *Bass* 500W class D into 2 puny 10" is the last trend among speaker haters.

But when I googled it to see what it was, I found it listed as "no longer available" on whatever site was selling it. Of course both those things can be true at once.

^That's the price of evaluation board (complete power amp sans power supply).

The replacement module itself is "only" about $70 in small quantities.
