| Boss ME-50
First time poster, greetings from NYC I've got an ME 50 multi effects box. The modulation section glitches out pretty regularly, so I've opened it up hoping to inspect/spray the pot and have the world turn properly on its axis once more. No way. The selector pot,(10 position), thats mounted to the pc board seems to be loose. I don't mean the solder connection's, but the assembey itself has the slightest bit of wooble to it. When nudged one way, the effect fails, and nudged back the otherway the effect operates as it should. I'd like to replace the pot (5 connections) but I can't identify the pot. I can't search out a ME-50 schematic to buy either. An otherwise very nice stomp box is edging toward the trash heap. This looks like a good place to look for help. Regards, Dez |

I can reply to my own post I know I can............ Can't leave anything alone it seems. I could actually feel some teeny movement on the backside of the board when I nudged the pot. On a whim I applied heat to the suspect joint and for the last 30 minutes or so its working. I will reassemble all the wee lil screws, lockwashers and nutz and keep my skeptical fingers crossed. dez |
