| Payback: 4210 Mod
Thanks to those who have previously posted their mods for the JCM 800 4210 combo I have finally finished mine. So here's the finished product as payback. This is specific to the '83 and earlier versions. It gives me the original, slightly more headroom on the "clean" channel, and full tube distortion on the "gain" channel. You may still wish to tweak the tone stacks, but I'm happy with the way it is. Influences for this mod include the mod on Schematic Heaven, as well as Otto's mod here and the Soldano Super Lead and, of course, the 2204. I've changed all the resistor values on the schematic to the actual ones in my amp. You may not agree with all my choices, but they work for me. Be careful the live amp voltages, if you don't know the drill with the filter caps, don't do this mod yourself. Thanks once again, Dave |

| Updated Mod
Here's an update of my previous mod, less noise, more gain, a little tweaking of the tone. Still shaving fuzz, but expect a tube change will suffice.
