| Strat Pot Question
I'm looking at wiring diagrams for strats. In particular, I'm changing the wiring so one tone pot controls the bridge pickup rather than the middle pickup. And I have a question about wiring. I see in a lot of wiring diagrams, like on this website (about halfway down the page) http://www.stocklogic.com/nohum/ that the way the pots are wired, the tone pot for the neck pickup connects to the five way switch through the middle prong on the pot, and the right prong goes to the capacitor and ground. But the tone pot for the middle/bridge pickup goes to the switch through the right prong, and has the middle prong going to the capacitor and ground. Is this right? I see lots of wiring diagrams that show it this way. This site has a similar diagram (the picture at the bottom of the page): http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/stockstrat.php But I want to make sure. The way my strat is wired now, both pots go to the switch through the middle prong. Thanks. |
