| New Little Big Muff Pi Output
Guy that plays in my band got one of these: EHX.com | Little Big Muff Pi - Distortion/Sustainer | Electro-Harmonix We kept getting on him about "level control" when kicking the thing on...until I started messing with it and found you CAN'T make it NOT boost ridiculously loud. I mean...it's a HUGE boost, and the volume goes from off to way loud very quickly with no in-between, no matter where you have the sustain (distortion) knob set. Several other people have mentioned this on other forums. Anyone have any ideas on how to easily tame this beast? Is it full of surface-mount components that will make it near impossible to futz with? Is there something we could do at the volume pot that would lower the gargantuan output of this thing? Seriously, you have to turn his Tele volume down to about 2, and it STILL boosts when you kick this thing on. He likes the sound, though, so we're trying to see what we can do. Maybe even build a bypass loop box with some kind of control on that, so he can leave the Muff on, and just kick it in at a mpore reasonable volume? Help? Thanks, Brad1 |
