| different kinds of tweed cloth?
Hello I am new here and glad I found this excellent forum. I plan to build a 5E3 and will need some tweed cloth. There seem to be different kinds of tweed available. Has anybody here tried to use the cheap cloth they sell at: www.kldguitar.com ? is it possible to varnish this tweed? Thanks /B |

The website there suggests that the "Tweed" they sell is actually vinyl or tolex, not cloth. It doesn't give quite the same appearance as real cloth but you don't have to varnish it. I have a Little Lanelei Rotary Speaker covered in a similar vinyl tweed and it doesn't look bad sitting beside my real tweed amps. |
