The Messenger has a digital amplifier. it runs off the same +/-25VDC that the +/-15VDCs are derived from for the preamp stages. There are no separate fuse, nor are there speaker relays.

Are the speakers TOTALLY silent? Or is ther any background sound in them?

The power amp board has three connectors - in, out, and power. You should have +25, -25, and grond to CN100, CN102 has the wires to the speaker jacks, make sure they are still connected, and the inout signakl from teh mixer is on CN103.
