| Amp service/repair or modification DVD's? Anybody know where to get them?
Hello all - First time poster. Long story short - I am about to move to the Philippines where there will be NO amp techs. I have 5 heads that I will need to keep in good shape and I am wanting to learn how to service my own amps and possible get into mods once I develop the core knowledge needed. I would like to buy a DVD set on the subject and was hoping someone could help me out locating a set. These are my amps:
I feel I can develop the skills to handle this. I was an HVAC Tech for several years and have quite a bit of experience working with electircal circuits. Of course this will be totally different but I can handle it. If you know of any resouce material that can help me that you highly reccomend please post it and post a link if possible. I would prefer DVD's or DVD sets but if there are books that have served you well let me know. Thanks all. |

If you can find a link to the "Jack Darr Book" it used to be available online for free, but I lost the link.It is an excellent, but old tube amp service manual. The Navpers 10087 Basic Electronics book has about everything about tube theory.Gerald Weber at Kendrick Amps has some instructional DVD's,I havent actually seen them, but I have read his books and discussed amps with him personally over the years and feel confident in recommending them, his books are good, but arent as basic, some knowledge of amps may be required, but they are good reading and would be helpful.Hope this helps get you started, and remember, even from the Phillipines you can reach us all here, there are a lot of knowledgeable pros right here.

I own Gerald Weber's "Tube Guitar Amplifier Servicing and Overhaul" DVD. It's pretty good. You can order it from his website: Kendrick Amplifiers: Amps, Guitars and Necessities. |

| Yup, I have the book (I just prefer having a hard copy book) and all that's missing here is all the schematics section at the back of the book. There's some useful ones in there but probably nothing you couldn't ind by doing a web search, again I just prefer working off printed copy.
