Well, i've already got 2 orange 4X12 with 100w celestion speakers in both. i need a good amp that will bring out the power of those cabs, and can't seem to decide on what would be good. I play in drop c tuning, and going for a Phobia or Ed Gein type sound if your into those bands. also, trying to be as loud and heavy as physically possible. also, trying to keep the budget at $1500 max. can anyone help me out with this? i was looking into a Peavy VTM 120 so far. |

the vtm 120 is a great head with that much load though it will compress if your looking for raw crunch try an ampeg v4 w/7027's.every thing depends on taste ,are you using pedals or amp distortion the v4 has killer headroom it wont ditstort you would have to use a pedal.massive metal tone though, make sure you get one w/ the original 7027 tubes though people retro fit other tubes in and it kills the head room.
