| Teeth-sucking squeal
Guys, what sort of symptom is a squeal that sounds about like sucking air through your teeth (a little lower-pitched than that, but a similar sound). This Hammond M-101 has a squeal like that in the reverb amp (NOT in the speaker, but in the amp). It goes away if I wiggle the 12AX7 or 6C-something in its socket. Is that a croaking filter cap or an actively frying transformer? Thanks! |

maybe what you think, but also sounds like arcing on the pins of the tubes you're moving, i would check (without power and caps discharged) the sockets for visible signals like blackening or something, maybe they're just lose or need to replace, also look for any sign on electrolitycs leaking, they make those noises too!! good luck !! and dont let it grow worse!! martinnez |
