| Safety warning: Sharpie Twin Tip markers can be lethal!
I'll be going down to get a tetanus shot in the morning because one of these darned pens attacked me! These Sharpies have two tips- a regular felt tip on one end and an ultra fine round metal tip on the other end. I have had problems with these pens since I bought a pack of them about 2 years ago: when you put the large cap on top of the small cap, if you don't push very lightly the small cap will get stuck inside the large cap, so you need to use something like tweezers to extract it. I was using my purple one last night to label a CDR I had recorded off the radio, and was putting the large cap back on. I hold the large cap in my left hand and then push against the small cap with my right thumb so that the pen is sealed and won't dry out. Only while I was putting my right thumb over the small cap, I knocked it off without noticing it (I was looking for a place to park the CDR, Doctor!) In any case, I accidentally gave myself a very nasty puncture wound on my right thumb so I'm going in for a tetanus shot tomorrow. The thumb is still sore but hopefully everything will heal okay (the stupid stainless steel tip might have cut a nerve or a muscle or a tendon, which could cause permanent damage). These pens should be taken off the market because they work lousy and are dangerous! Here's what they look like so that you can avoid them: http://www.artsuppliesonline.com/cat...m?cata_id=6058 Consider yourself warned! Steve Ahola |

Dont' get me wrong, I really feel for you but I use those things all the time. My big complaint is slate tile. We just had the kitchen redone and I keep tripping over the grout lines. It really hurts when you're barefoot at 2:00 in the morning . My wife and daughter are no help either, they keep laughing. It's almost as bad as the branch on our apple tree that I keep walking into |
