| Broken Vibe Monobox 4 Amplifier - Making Static Noise.
Hi all, I have got a Vibe Monobox 4 (2800w peak) Amplifier. A while ago it died (Was just over a year old) and I want to try and get it going. Symptoms: When turned on there is a constant static noise from the sub woofer. Just like static on a tv but not as high piched. If I play some music on it (Via the phono input) I can hear the music but it is much quieter than it should be. Even with the gain turned up. However there is still the static noise aswell. As I turn the input devices volume up (In this case was an IPOD) the static seems to fade away as the music gets louder. When the IPOD volume gets to about 50% the amp cuts out and no noise at all comes from the sub. Not even static. I have tried with different subs and also dismantled wiring and rewired (12v, Ground, Remote etc) Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? Many thanks for any replies and please let me know what other info / tests I can do if it helps to diagnose the problem. Steve. |
