Great catch! There's a real premium in being able to identify what shapes which are buried inside other mass produced things are useful for using in tinkering.
One of my moments like that resulted in the similar "steel studs" enclosures.

O boy I love working with sheet metal in fact i have a 2' harbor freight sheet metal bender
along with my lathe and mil;l shop stuff. You did a great job on that sheet matal box.
I made a drum machine holder for two drum machines with a tripod stand i'll put some pic
of that if your interested. anyway great job andi'll have to barrow your idea and make some pedal kits in the future. Cap. in sunny San Diego. Ca.
