I'm sorry, $429 is just obscene for an electric motor hooked to a variable resistor with an optical counter. Seems like you're paying more for that sexy decal and wood paneling.

You don't use variable resistors to control motor speed.. you use a motor speed control circuit. But yeah, it's quite expensive. It's more than the Schatten, and except for the back lit counter I see no added benefits.

The back lit counter is nice though, that's a complaint I have with the Schatten. I have an LED book light positioned in front of mine.

I think the decal is fugly.

Exactly! I would have gotten one of these at the time if I had known about it.

How fast do they run? Can you control the speed? I seem to remember some issue about them running very fast.

I'd like to see a picture of the insides of one of those.

Seems like $99.00 is a good price, but check out the shipping ...$65.00!

Anyway, $429.00 is waaaayyy too steep for what is pictured.

...he used that many xcrews so as to "hold-in" the magic-smoke that makes electronics "work," because we all know when the 'smoke' comes out things stop working (wink, wink)!

I don't want any winder where I have to wear hearing protection. Man that thing is loud!
