| 70s Tele Neck Wire?
I'm rewinding a tele neck pickup on a 74 Telecaster. The owner said he loved the original neck pickup because it's "Hendrix like tones". To me, a Tele neck sounds nothing like a Strat neck...which makes me wonder if they used 42AWG in the 70s. Anyone know? Seems since I'm gunning for Strat tones that 42AWG would be the wise choice regardless. Last edited by PoorMan; 02-05-2010 at 02:22 AM. |

I think they primarily used 43 gauge unless they ran out. Then they used 42 gauge until they got more 43.
