| Difference between 5150 and 5150 II?
Besides the additional tone stack is there any schematical difference between the two amps?

Immediately prior to the tone stack there is a rolloff and the resistor value is different. The drawings look different, but if you compare the actual circuits, they are similar. In the dirt channel if you look close there is an RC that is different. Without looking I am thinking over by the gain controls or interstage. One has a cap and the other doesn't in the position. I think the plate load for the input stage is 100k in one and 110k in the other. We then can argue whether that is a difference of not since one falls within the 10% range of the other. The basic electrical difference is a little tone shaping then. If you ask PV what to do to chance teh 5150-2 back to the 5150, they'll tell you to change three parts. |
