| Fender Ultimate Chorus heads-up
Just wanted to pass this along... Worked on a Fender Ultimate Chorus amp today. Customer said someone else had worked on it before and that now the DSP wasn't working. Sure enough there was no +5V supply to the DSP board. Long story shorter - diode D71, which feeds the 5V regulator was installed backwards. The goofy thing is it matched the graphic on the PC board. Apparently the factory silkscreened the board wrong. I'm guessing the previous repair dude saw an "obviously backward" diode installed and "fixed" it. |

the most difficult problems to fix are the ones we create ourselves! The other tech will never know. Wise old words of wisdom..."if it ain't broke...." we all know the rest! g |
