    Post your amp samples here!

With all this talking about amps, looking at amps, soldering on amps, drooling, spending, coveting, replacing, re-voicing....

How about some listening? It's all fun to listen to, and it's fun to hear other's gear. I propose a format, at least loosely:

The track's name or reference, the pertinent recording details and the gear in the track of interest. Excuse me if this exists elsewhere! I presume hosting is an issue for larger files so I used megaupload.

Here's a little jam we do spontaneously called

"I'll leave the light on for you"

It was recorded on a portable zoom recorder in watery, watery mp3.

the bass is my buddy's awesome QSC powered eden-pre rig, he just got his new 6 string that day. One guitar (the strat, if you can tell) is me, and it's a padouk warmouth through a 45w "fender" straight in, and the other is my other very good friend playing a les paul through a "fender" pre and a big solid state power amp (and tons of fx on a ground control). The "fender" I'm playing is a compact combo and an e50 from mesa and his amp(s) are all tone tubbies in hard truckers style.

    Enjoy!

107 views and nobody even wants to mock my playing? Thats almost worse than the fact that this idea fell dead to the ground! I mean, it wasn't the best sample, or "just the amp, no band" but my amps are barely ever played alone, so for me how it cuts is what counts. And since I built the other guitar rig, except for the cabs (and the ground control and a few pedals), the player built those, any commentary on guitar tone would have been valid. Can't anybody at least say "you suck" or "whack tune" or... No thread ever went 107 views on MAF and didn't get replied to. Was it the megaupload?

I was taught that if you didn't have something nice to say, don't, and from the resounding, echoing silence after 107 views, I can't help but think there's nothing nice to be said, or nobody wants to reveal their own weaknesses. I get paid to play, like weekly or more, so what does that mean, that my prod co and agent and custies are tone deaf and completely crazy? Is my thread just off base, and has no place on this forum? In that case, is this just a repair and "get er rippin" and then blow out of town forum, or have I missed the place where it should have been???

The strat tone was nice. Sounds a bit like a Super to me. I have a question. Why was the other gtr plyr not keeping some chords going? Sounds like a bass solo spot with some soloing over the top of it.

Maybe the other 107 had the same Luck as Me!
I couldn't get it to download and play.
