| Marshall MG100 FX master volume
A customer brought me this amp after he replaced the MasterVolume pot.Now the Master only works when turned to about "8" and is uncontrollable. The owner claims to have used the same value as the original pot (50k).-So with this info I tried both Audio and linear taper pots (50k) with no apparent difference.I have no schematic but I assume he has the wrong value pot.I need help.

Sounds like a connection problem. Check those pads real well and make sure they haven't been damaged or not making a connection. Put your ohm meter on the leg of the pot and check continuity to where the trace takes you.

Thanks Enzo, I had a 10k which seemed to work fine.I kinda figured it would be 5k or 500k,I guess the owner remembered the value had a 5 in it.I'm glad I keep some dead gear around to farm for parts.
