Never tried them.
Here is a nice schematic for a 20 watt push pull. (circa 1957)
I pulled some of these out pf a pwr supply recently. They look like the plate structure was stolen from a 35/50L6, but are rated almost the same as a 6V6, albiet a lower plate V. Anyone played with them in a cathode biased arrangement? Opinions on sound?

Pay heed to those screen voltage ratings. Looks like the 6Y6 draws a lot more current at a given screen voltage than the more familiar beam tetrodes, so you may want to use a higher value dropping resistor or feed the screens from a voltage divider.
Ahh, the 0D3! I love that valve! I have bought a whole box of them at 50c a piece, and use them in amps that need them like the one posted design does.
It's a very clever way to drop some voltage and keep the heat out of the amp. And they look cool as well!
