My first build from 2010, the Weber AB200 kit. A bass amp with 6xKT88 or 6x6550.
The 2011 project, a Weber 6S100. This was not a kit, I used Dynaco transformers and built everything from scratch. 2xKT88's
This year I built a Hiwatt DR201 clone from scratch. 6xEL34 or 4xKT88
All amps have individual bias ajdustments pots for each tube and a built in volt meter for bias adjustment.
Nice work bb5000,
How did you do the lettering on the 2011 project Weber 6S100 panels?
Care to show any inside amp porn shots of you handiwork?
Cheers,
Tom

"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"
Steve, what make/model speaker is in that NinjaCorvetteGold amp? It has an interesting looking cone and surround, like a full-range hi-fi speaker.
It's an Eminence Beta 8, which is a full-range PA speaker right enough. Maplin had them on special, and I had one kicking around looking for a use.It sounded better than the Elac radio speaker that was originally in the amp.
You can read more about the project here.

Ah OK, I see the purple cone from behind and the label of course.... The new 8A's don't have the bigger paper dust cap, I wonder if it changed the sound any?
I believe mine is an 8A. The dust cap is the same size as the end of the voice coil, hard to see how they could have made it smaller.

OK maybe I'm seeing things looking through the grill...the opening is for a 10" speaker and it made the dome seem bigger then 2". The speaker is rated for 225 watts!!
So many beauties i'm ashamed with my tiny toy, but it's fun and i like it. It's a single ECL82/6BM8 amp.
Nice work Bluefinger.
Your two tone tolex covering design is very attractive.
Cheers,
Tom
Cool thread! Here's one of mine:
And here's the build thread if you're interested: I'm gonna build a 6G3 Deluxe! From scratch! - The Gear Page
My first attempt was a 5E3 with Triode Electronics parts.
Brother-In-law had access to a CNC punch press and fabricated the chassis.
Red oak was left over from a home remodeling project.
Learned as much about cab building as I did amp building. I now know what not to do.
I use the Vintage AC adapter (thanks R.G.) from the GEOFEX site to tame
the high B+ and heater voltages due to the Triode Electronics transformers.
Have parts to do the mods but it's a lotta fun as is.
This one's a Weber Tore-Vibe, standalone reverb unit with bias tremolo. Only a little tweak to the original schematic.

Nice looking amp Zephyr, but I would cover the open part of the chassis with a piece of sheet metal. There are dangerous voltages that are exposed. You never know when something unexpected may happen.
