Probably just another guy selling from his Mom's house, after School hours.
    Thousands like them.

Or maybe only the server and page address is in USA (.com without any other extension) and the guy is actually in China or anywhere else, shipping direct to you. (which you will only notice after receiving the goods).

    Wonders of Internet shopping.

Simply while I was sipping my morning coffee, I checked it:
    WHOIS says:
    http://www.whoisentry.com/domain/amplifiertubes.com
    the domain is registered by:
    http://www.enom.com/
which is a company which does just that: you pay them to go through the hassle of registering the site. Period.
Anybody in the World can use their services.
    The site is hosted in:
    http://www.sitesouth.com/
    Same considerations.
    Where on Earth is "amplifiertubes"?
    Who knows?.

It's owned by RackCrew which also owns AnalogTubes.com and TubeBuilders.com. We are not just an internet company. We don't work out of a bedroom, basement or garage. We operate our own 2,000 sq. ft. retail tube store and tube testing center. We are a large stocking Authorize Dealer for most of our tube manufactures. We are located in NC.

AnalogTubes® is a registerd trademark of RackCrew, Inc.

Wow! That was quite the coincidence! Somebody may have been searching stuff about themselves, and stumbled onto this?

    We are located in NC.
    Nice to know.
*NOWHERE* on your site says so, so please understand the OP's concerns are quite valid, specially considering any full retube operation using your services means paying 100/200U$ or more, in advance, to an unknown seller , at an unknown location.
You do not even provide a phone/fax number, a street address, Company info, a physical person name, nothing.
Even your "disclosure" is vague. NC is BIG.
Must recognize your Web site is nice and looks well made.
Maybe adding better info within the site would help.

We've been selling tubes for many years. However, we only launched amplifiertubes.com a short time ago so it may take a bit of time to clean the website up, Orders being shipped is not an issue, but with 4,000+ variations on tube sets it takes some time to get the website completed

OK, thanks for coming out and answering.
I googled "Rack Crew" and found some pretty impressive stuff.
Pity you didn't mention this at all at said site, but , well, I guess you are correcting that.
    Good luck.

I have doubts about this vendor. Ordered over internet using PayPal. No response from the vendor. Called them and got a voice mail and no response. two weeks and nothing. Will have to have argue the charge with PayPal, since they seem to either have severe issues or are phony.

They're keeping track of online vendors over at the gear page. I've noticed they've purged a few vendors after some negative feedback. Only one I've used on this list is tube tramp for what it's worth.

It does not appear they ever finished any of their sites. Two of them are non-functional and one is 1/2 functional.
On the one site that sort of works, they give their street address. Seems more like mother wanted her basement back.

    They list :
    226 B Forlines Road
    Winterville, NC 28590

    Phone: (252) 558-9075
    FAX: (252) 558-9076
The address lists these businesses but no tube companies:
    Blue Salamander, LLC‎ -
    Coastal Generator Service, Inc.‎ -
    Eddy's Auto Glass‎ -
    Glee Wilder‎ -
    Hostess Brands Inc‎ -
    Jon's Gutters‎ -
    Merita Bread‎ -
    MSI of Eastern Carolina‎ -
    Paul Davis Restoration‎ -
