Try 120 Ohm resistors, one in each line of tip and ring. Wire the socket such that it cuts out the speaker signal.
Hi,
I know it is probably a basic question for most of you but I wonder if you could help me out with a simple amp mod. I would like to add a headphone socket to an amp (probably a Fender FM212).
Could it be as simple as putting a switched stereo jack socket in line by disconnecting wires to the speakers, connecting them to a switched jack and then feeding back from the switch to the speakers OR would I need any electronics in line to modify the signall to make it suitable for headphones?
Any info gratefully received
Steve
Try 120 Ohm resistors, one in each line of tip and ring. Wire the socket such that it cuts out the speaker signal.
Or just tie Tip and Ring together and use one resistor, the amp is not stereo anyway.
Fender.com has many amp schematics on there, you might look at how they wired the headphones jack on some other models. Seems to me that other amps in the FM/Frontman series had headphones.
