Peavey Tube Fex Display garbled / gobbledeegook

    Hi,

I have a Tube Fex that I am looking at. It appears that it might be working apart from the display is garbled. You turn it on and the display is just a mess of characters - generally readable characters but incorrect. The unit has firmware version 1.1 and the battery has been removed and the RAM replace non-volatile RAM. I believe that it has worked and just stopped.

To me it seem that the unit is working as if I press some of the buttons settings change, relays click and the motorised pot whirrs up and down.

My question to the forum is has anybody seen this fault and resolved it? I was thinking it could just be the display unit that's gone duff.

Many thanks for reading and any thoughts very welcome.

    Mike

    Reinitialize the unit?

    Hi Enzo,

Yes I should have said up front the reinitialization sequence mentioned below makes no improvement. Should also add that the sequence of characters displayed which includes lots of currency, punctuation symbols etc and is the same consistent result every power on. I am thinking that if the display module doesn't cost too much, it might be worth substituting it out.

    From Peavey site: TUBEFEX
Press and hold the down & right cursor on power up. To check the version of firmware, press and hold to down & left cursor on power up.
