    pick ups

    my special 130 distorts;could it be the humbuckers i have in my guitar?.i always keep the volume up full throttle to get better signal and sound.would going with single coils help?

    Distortion is usually the result of amplifier gain.
    a couple things can be done if you don't want distortion.
    Turn down the Amplifier Gain, and volume.
    Also try lowering the pickups a little in the adjustment rings, if they are adjusted high.
