Peavey XR 684f 'no power to mixer'

    Hi again guy's

Xr684f has no power to the front board, the rear power board is working ok so far with ipod pluged into L+R amp inputs sound is good!!

I checked the ribon conector at the mixer board end and its showing +0.68v at pin 8

    Should pin 8 be +15v??

I followed it back to the power board and transistor Q215 is showing 0v at pin 1 and 0.68 at pin 3

I need to test further but i have no schmatics for the power board! if there is one about could someone point me in that direction as i only seem to find front board schems.

    Thankyou hope your all well

I think you might have a dead regulator?
Looks like unregulated 10 volts on pin 8, on what I have, but it may not be the same. Check on both sides of R267...

    Thankyou Soundguruman

Ok just a recap on Q215!!... There is +29.9v at pin 1 'not 0v like i said before', i missread what i had checked

So there is only .7v at pin 3 on Q215 and iv checked R267 and it also showing .7v on both sides.

I'm going to change Q215 first and take it from there, i need to order them in as nobody local seems to have them on the shelf

Well actually, thank PV service department. They have always supported us with parts and schematics.
Q 215 is a 7815 voltage regulator, easily available at almost at any electronics store, in stock almost everywhere,
7815T: MAJOR BRANDS: ICs & Semiconductors
they do blow now and then.
But why did it blow? Is there something drawing too much current on the +15 rail?
    try LM7815 or NTE968
