Marshall JMP-1 Midi preamp

Hey guys. I'm working on a Marshall JMP-1 midi preamp. The problem is that when you send signal in, you get a really weak and distorted sound. It gets that way when you strum harder on the guitar. Any hints?

Try plugging in a pair of headphones and see if you get the distorted signal or if it works properly. This will help isolate whether the problem is in the solid-state portion of the circuit or in the tube stage. (assuming the schematic I'm looking at is reasonably accurate, of course)
