Extension speaker jacks (Alamo in particular)

I have a couple of Alamo Futura Reverb 2x12 combo amps. I checked the speakers on one and it has two 16 Ohm speakers in parallel for an 8 Ohm load.

Should an 8 Ohm cabinet be used in the extension speaker jack?

I've searched the net, but haven't found anything about this.

Off the top of my head, I'd say yes to 8 ohms if the output jacks are standard two or three lugged ones and in parallel.
If they are four lugged with as a transfer jack then maybe no.

Thanks, Bruce. I'll take the chassis out sometime and take another look at it. Seems like the two leads from the OT to the speakers aren't connected (that I could see) to the extension jack.
