Exclamation amplog is alive

The new ampage blogging site is now up and running and ready to go. I've just begun exploring it's many features myself, and you're all welcome to join me at amplog.net.

Update [09-06-06]: Lifetype 1.1 was officially released a few minutes ago. I'll be upgrading amplog.net to this new version shortly.

WTF ... I'll give it a shot (in fact I've already written a post)! A couple of Qs, though:

1. Am I correct in assuming that the primary help/guidance for how to "do stuff" (templates, etc.) is to be found at http://www.lifetype.net/ ?

2. Do you have any particular aspirations or expectations for Amplog, or is this more of a "provide the dirt, water & sunlight and see what grows" project?

3. What, no smilies?!

That's the place. More specifically, the manual can be found at wiki.lifetype.net.

To quote myself from a previous post, "...something that individual members could use to document their progress on DIY projects, share files, comment or theorize on various aspects of music electronics, etc, etc"

That too, most definitely.

Hmm... I'll have to look into that.

I wonder what happened to those folks who claimed to be interested in blogging capability, tboy. It must be kinda depressing to try to respond to that kind of thing and get so little real participation...

C'mon people! Try it out: http://amplog.net/

The spammers seem to like it!

I had five new comments in my blog this morning. They were all full of spam. If I hadn't deleted them, we'd have more spam than content. That might be a little depressing, but I'm soldiering onward undeterred.

First time I read that I thought it said soldering.

I've already noted this over at Amplog, but we (and I do not exclude myself!) really are a pathetic bunch when it comes to blogging! I guess I should say the rest of what I have to say on the topic over there...

Bug?

At least twice now I've tried to "Save Draft" when needing a rest from the hard labor of creating the stunning prose for which I am likely to become world famous (actually, today I had to go tend to some bread I was baking) and Amplog has sat there chewing on it for a long while, without complaining. Unfortunately, when it finishes chewing my incomplete post is gone!

Is "draft" a feature that can be turned on & off?

Have I offended the gods of ones and zeroes?

Is it the mushrooms?

I dunno, Mark. I have yet to try that feature myself, but I will and see what happens.
