| No Sound Out Of Cab...Help!
I bought a new Hiwatt Studio Stage Head, and a 4*12 Hiwatt Cab which arrived this week. I could not get a sound of the setup, and figured I had tube problems from the amp being shipped to me, but when I took it in to a shop to make sure, we hooked the head up to one of the store's cabs and the head worked fine. So I went back home, took the back off the speaker cab, and all the wiring looks solid. Still not a sound though. The cab is 16 ohms and the head is set at 16 ohms. Someone suggested the cab might have been wired wrong, etc.....how do I get to the bottom of this? Thanks! Tom |

basic thing to do is get the schematic for the cabinet and just see for yourself. check the connections to the input jacks on the back of the cabinet to see if the wires are connected correctly.

First try a different speaker cord. The cab might indeed have incorrect wiring. |
