| Just finished the kit, but..
Hey Guys, What a great little amp! I love the sound in the bright channel, but I'm having a problem with the normal channel. The sound is really wimpy and if I try to use the 5-way switch on my strat or the volume knobs, I get a really loud noise. I can actually hear the wiper in the guitar's volume pot moving across the coil! No problems in the bright channel though. Any thoughts on the fix? I've been through the wiring diagram about twenty times and I can't seem to spot my mistake. Thanks, Dave |

Presumably the guitar is plugged into inputy 1 of either channel. Almost sounds like the input resistor is not on the #1 jack of the normal channel. Congrats, btw. My Mission 5E3 is my new favorite amp. Barry |

I'd probably be looking at the grid stoppers for that channel maybe next then, keeping in mind that I know next to nothing. I am just throwing ideas out there.  I suppose it is possible something is amiss with the triode driving the normal channel. What happens when you mess with the normal volume pot? There should be interaction without the channels bridged and I am curious how it affects your particular situation. Barry |
