    Digitech SC-2 Valve Distortion

    Need help with this pedal, love the way it sounds but it stopped working with the battery. Works fine with outboard power supply. Checked the battery connection, it's getting to the board. Is there a protection diode to look for or something else I can check?

    Many times the DC input jack is a switching type. When an adapter is plugged in, the battery is disconnected. If the switch part of the jack isn't working, the unit thinks an adapter is plugged in. Check solder on the jack. Clean contacts. Check the switching part with your meter and make sure it's switching. This assumes that it is indeed a switching jack.
