| Getting my wisdom teeth out! :/
I'm off to the Glasgow Dental Hospital this afternoon to get all of my wisdom teeth yanked!

Hope you come back with more feeling in your mouth than I did. I had the two lower ones yanked in early 2001, and was warned there might be some nerve damage as a result. Though it has improved in the intervening period, the lower left side of my mouth STILL feels like I went for a filling this morning and the freezing is still just wearing off. The left side of my lower lip is still numb. Ironically, I had the surgery in the middle of a required French Immersion program as part of my work. For the two months of the program remaining after the surgery, the loss of feeling in my mouth buggered up my pronunciation badly. My French pronunciation is actually quite good (I'm one of those people who can mimic accents well), but much of what I would say came out different than my cerebellum had planned it, because my left jaw was feeding back bogus information. I hadn't realized you were in Glasgow. When you have the chance, pop into the computer science department and say hi to long-time gear-buddy David Morning. We corresponded for while during the early days of music-gear newsgroups in the early 1990's. He may be close to retirement there. Terrific guy. |

Oh my, well besy wishes. I had al mine out about 30 years ago. The swelling has subsided for the most part. Actually it was not as bad as I had feared. I was woozy from the anaesthetic, but my work mates had driven me there and back, and we had it together enough to stop back at the shop and pick up our paychecks and take them to the bank. My smile was pretty bloody though. A couple days of relaxation and I was OK. By the way, if keyboarding hurts your face, you are doing it wrong. |

That sucks to hear, Mark, but it's obviously not affected your knowledge of stomp boxes! They just sedated me with Midazolam and then did it with a local anaesthetic. I don't really remember what they did, though I have some vague memories of things getting drilled and yanked, I was too stoned to care much! Enzo, I tried typing with my fingers and I am a convert!
