That old down counter again

Remember that 4-digit down counter kit that was selling a long time ago down-under? seems it's available from a US source called Circuit Specialists for like $19.95 these days, even has the same PDF file with it.

It was cool because it had an output so you could trigger a shut-off when the count was reached.
