| 6CG7 swap for EL84 ?
Having never tried swapping tube types, I'm hesitant to try it. EL84: ftp://ftp.eierc.com/pub/rc/Ei-EL84.pdf 6CG7: http://www.triodeel.com/6cg7_p1.gif Heaters, inputs/outputs, and pin 9 being internal shield look compatible, these tube types look similar in many ways. 18w clone W/342v on the plates. Do you think I should just drop in the 6CG7's and test them or am I missing something first ? |

No, the 6CG7 is a twin triode, wired more like a 12AX7 and not at all like an EL84.
