6AQ5 substitutions

Are there any direct, or indirect, subs for the 6AQ5 power tube? I think its the 6005 tube that is identical, but i want something a little different. Something with a little more output. If i got to redirect some wires or something no problem. I just want to experiment with different tube types

Well, try the 6V6. They are similar, though different sizes and shapes.

6HG5 should drop in.

Try 6005, 6095, 6669, EL90.

Direct european replacement is the EL90.
You can try some of the ELxx small penthodes, from EL80 to EL90, some of them woul be too powerfull maybe, like the EL84.
EL85 (6BN5) could be a good candidate but has a little less power than the 6AQ5 / EL90

6HG5 / 6AQ5A as Enzo pointed should be another good election.

There should be lots of small glass penthodes with american nomenclature, that for sure.
