| Finished $50 5e3
First build. ![]() Box and speaker from a RCA 16mm film rig. I need a better speaker. ![]() Chassis, trannys, tube sockets from a 50s Electrohome phono amp. ![]() Purchased board and caps. At $32 the board was by far the most expensive part of the build. Switches, knobs, pots, tubes, resistors, etc. from the parts bin. This thing absolutely rips. |

Wow! I love the reuse of mostly everything. Well done. Curious about what the resistor in parallel with the first filter cap is for? |

Hey tubeswell! Thanks! That's a bleed resistor. The amp didn't seem to need it so I took it out. Just happens to be there in those shots -- good eye! I discussed it a little in this recent thread: 5E3 - Why No Bleed Resistor to Drain B+? |
