No fuss, reasonably priced winder with most of the bells and whistles

Beats the hell out of a schatten!
Starts at $180, buy it now at $215, $60 for shipping.
I'm considering importing these things...but no reverse (I think)

A couple of guys on the MB here have bought those. Here's the thread.

I don't know if they ever got their problems resolved.

Those do look interesting... but from what I remember they run very fast.

It also doesn't have any kind of wire guide. But it is cheaper than the Schatten, and I assume it stops after a programed number.

What exactly can you program on it?

it can be programmed for # turns @ what speed and when to stop. minimum speed is 2000, around what I usually use (I sometimes use 3000). I "think" you can control the speed for each "step" with the pedal (i.e. MAX speed for 1st step is 2000)
I found they have a few models with different programmability by surfing the web.

It looks like a nice machine. There was a discussion about this machine a while back. We figured if it were too fast you can add a different size pulley.

I suppose 2000 RPM isn't terribly fast, if you have some kind of proper de-spooler. My very low tech method (hanging the spool on a cup holder lower than the table I'm working on) isn't the best way to do things!
